Publication Ethics & Editorial Standards

Academic integrity, open-access governance, and ethical publishing frameworks for AXIS Exploration and Academics (Private) Limited.

Institutional Commitment to Research Integrity

As a registered Crossref member organization (DOI Prefix: 10.67129), AXIS Exploration and Academics is dedicated to upholding the highest global standards of scholarly publishing.

The ethical protocols governing our open-access journals and editorial workflows are strictly aligned with the core practices and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. We are committed to fostering a transparent, equitable, and rigorous academic environment.

01. Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Policy Overview

In response to the rapid evolution of technology in academia, and in strict alignment with COPE and ICMJE directives, we have established clear boundaries regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and automated data processing tools in scholarly research.

Core AI Directives

  • AI Cannot Be Named an Author: AI tools, software, or algorithms do not fulfill the fundamental criteria for authorship (intellectual accountability, ethical consent, and scientific ownership). Under no circumstances may an AI tool be listed as an author or co-author.

  • Author Disclosure Requirement: Authors who utilize AI tools for text refinement, code generation, or data organization must explicitly disclose this usage within the manuscript (typically in the Methods or Acknowledgments section). The disclosure must detail the specific tool used and its exact application.

  • Prohibition of Synthetic Manuscript Generation: The generation of full manuscript drafts, synthetic literature reviews, or artificial data using generative AI models is strictly prohibited. Such actions constitute severe academic misconduct and will result in immediate rejection.

  • AI in Peer Review & Editing: To protect intellectual property and author privacy, our editorial staff and peer reviewers are strictly forbidden from uploading confidential manuscript drafts into public AI models for evaluation or editing.

02. Open Access Licensing & Persistent Identifiers

CC BY 4.0 Licensing Framework

All journals published under the umbrella of AXIS Exploration and Academics operate under a gold Open Access model. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring research is free to read, download, and share.

  • Re-use & Distribution: Anyone is free to copy, redistribute, transform, or build upon the published material in any medium or format, provided the original author and source are properly cited.

  • Author Ownership: Authors retain full, unrestricted copyright and publishing rights to their work. We do not enforce embargo periods.

  • Immediate Global Access: Published articles are made freely available to the global scientific community immediately upon publication, with no subscription fees or paywalls.

Archiving & Discoverability

  • Crossref DOIs: Every peer-reviewed article published across our journal portfolio is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered directly through Crossref (Prefix: 10.67129), ensuring permanent linkability and robust global citation tracking.

  • Digital Preservation: All article metadata and full-text files are permanently preserved within our Open Journal Systems (OJS) architecture to guarantee continuous, long-term access for future generations of researchers.

03. Misconduct Oversight & Correction Protocols

Anti-Plagiarism Screening

Maintaining the originality of the scientific record is paramount. All submissions undergo rigorous automated similarity screening using industry-standard software (such as Turnitin) prior to entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts exhibiting excessive similarity, uncredited text overlap, self-plagiarism, or duplicate submission are immediately rejected.

Editorial Malpractice & Retractions

AXIS Exploration and Academics takes all allegations of academic misconduct seriously. In cases of suspected data fabrication, duplicate submission, unethical research practices, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, our editorial board follows standardized COPE flowcharts to initiate formal, unbiased investigations.

Depending on the severity and outcome of the investigation, corrective actions may include:

  1. Formal manuscript rejection prior to publication.

  2. Notification of the author’s affiliated institution or funding body.

  3. The public issuance of an official Expression of Concern or a formal Article Retraction on the journal’s OJS platform, permanently updating the article’s Crossref metadata to reflect its retracted status.
